    Description

UP for auction is a 1930s-1940s Haze Atlas w/pressed honeycomb pattern on back of the small milk (child size) pitcher w/child movie star Shirley Temple graphic on the front.
This piece was part of giveaways for when consumers bought boxes of Wheaties and/or Bisquick made by General Mills. Shirley Temple's rise to stardom was right in line with the era of ready to eat breakfast cereals so what better way to promote cereal than to put a famous child star on the fronts of boxes? There was a cereal bowl and a child's mug made, along with the small milk pitcher I have here up for auction. Brand ambassador !
So this kid's milk pitcher (great idea) was an "inducement" to get kids to drink more milk (I can hear those Moms saying "Oh, Shirley Temple drinks milk! That's how she got so famous" .... (not)....
Me? I told my kid if he didn't drink milk his bones would crack and disintegrate and one day he'd be walking down the street and his entire skeleton would just fall apart and he'd do a face plant on the pavement and never get up. What a nice Mom I am huh LOL (got my kid to drink milk, though!)
This milk pitcher has a spout (of course it does LOL) and is really really nice shape. Measures approx. 4 1/2 inches in height, and 3 inches in diameter. The graphic is still in nice shape. I think this has sat on a shelf so age appropriate wear.
    Shipping is free as always.
