    Description

    Using a pattern drafted from an original Alexander day dress--and some gorgeous vintage sprigged cotton fabric-- I've made a summer frock for the always perfectly attired Miss Cissy. This dress has the correct square neck and delicate vintage lace trim at the sleeves. I've modified the pattern by adding a slightly dropped waist and a more fitted, fully lined bodice. Requisite details include hand blind stitched hem and square snaps. The petticoat, of new taffeta, is lined with tightly gathered tulle of a slightly stiffer style, which I've recently discovered.
