Embroidered organza dress, slip and hat for Madame Alexander Cissy doll

Using a pattern drafted from an original Alexander day dress--and some absolutely fabulous
vintage
embroidered white organza fabric-- I've made a party frock--or perhaps a modern wedding dress--for the always perfectly attired Miss Cissy. This dress has the classic square neck and delicate puffed sleeves. I've modified the pattern by adding a slightly dropped waist and a more fitted, fully lined bodice. Requisite details include hand blind stitched hem and square snaps. I've tacked a nosegay posy of vintage blue rosebuds to the waistline of the dress. The petticoat, of new taffeta, is lined with gathered white tulle

Cissy wears a vintage straw hat trimmed with new tulle and vintage millinery flowers--hat can be worn with either side at front--unlike that green bonnet Rhett gave to Scarlett! Gold elastic, like the elastic Madame used, keeps the hat in place.
