    Description

Offered to you is this oval Hazel Atlas Occasional Dish
made by Hazel Atlas in 1933+ when they added pink to their glass dishes and jars.
This dish measures 8 1/4" handle to handle x 3 7/8" wide x 1 3/8" deep. The design is of four half panels of narrow ribs surrounding a small ribbed oval circle in the center which are all pressed into the back of the piece and it is smooth on the front. It is suitable for preserves, nuts, candy, relish, a banana split or other fare.  The rim is flat on the top edge. The handles are cut to become part of the ribbing and have small balls on the end. The pattern is shown in Hazel Atlas' Catalog #577.
A similar design 3 sided dish is shown on page 137 of "The Hazel-Atlas Glass Identification and Value Guide" hard cover book, Copyright 2005 by Gene and Cathy Florence. I have listed that pink piece separately and another matching dish which is square, so look to consolidate shipping and get all three. This dish is a bit lighter in the pink color than the other two yet they are from the same line but may have been produced at a little different time period during the
Great Depression. Because of the strains of the war and depression on manufacturing, many of these items were not perfect and supplies were limited.  Here is a chance to add an unusual piece of depression pressed glass from that historical period from Hazel Atlas which was part of that group of manufacturers.
