WOW! TAKE A GANDER AT this RARE PORCELAINE DE PARIS FRANCE VINTAGE AUTO CAR MOTOR WAGON DOUBLE SIDE INKWELL. Condition is "Used". Shipped FREE TO YOU via USPS PRIORITY Mail.
This hard-to-find Porccelaine de Paris France is part of an enormous lot of vintage car memorabilia purchased in West Palm Beach, Florida. The inkwell has been stored in my smoke-free, pet free airconditioned home.
The double-sided image inkwell depicts 2 early/pioneering USA brands: Selden’s Motor Wagon 1877 and Duryea’s Motor Wagon 1895. The inkwell features a removable ink pot and a hole for pen storage. The inkwell is clearly marked on the bottom “Porcelaine de Paris France,” along with the maker’s mark.
The gold outlining around the ink pot, pen opening and outer opening show some paint loss. The inside of the ink pot has some areas of discoloration (SEE PHOTOS). The pen hole may show a small chip or it may be how it was manufactured. I cannot feel any areas or roughness in the pen hole. (Please see photos.)
There are no cracks, chips, crazing or nicks on the body of the inkwell or the ink pot. There are no signs of repair to the inkwell. I have not cleaned or repaired the inkwell. The bottom of the inkwell shows signs of wear and some discoloration.
The inkwell measures approximately 3 7/8 inches across and it is approximately 2 1/4 inches wide. The inkwell stands approximately 2 1/4 inches high.
