  • Condition: The mini 4.50" high milk pitcher is in very good condition considering it is nearly 90 years old. The glass retains its attractive and vibrant cobalt blue appearance. Being as old as this piece is, the glass surface shows minor wear with light surface blemishes from decades of being on display and being handling. The glass has no chips, cracks or any damage of any kind. The printed image and signature of Shirley Temple has somewhat worn but still remains easily recognizable as can be verified in the description Photos.     Description

    For your consideration is this adorable and beautiful cobalt blue glass SHIRLEY TEMPLE 1930's advertising promotional Atlas Hazel Glass Co. 12.0 ounce milk pitcher.  This piece was displayed in my grandmother's china cabinet for many years.
    During the 1930's, General Mills commissioned the Hazel Atlas Glass Co. to produce an advertising promotional child's breakfast set with the small milk pitcher with an image and signature of child movie star Shirley Temple.  The complete set consisted of a cobalt blue bowl, a mug and a 4.50 " tall miniature milk pitcher.  The pitcher was made of cobalt blue honeycomb pattern glass with a white decal of Shirley Temple and her signature underneath.
    Sometimes collectors refer to this piece as a cobalt creamer, but as previously stated, it is actually a 4.50" high milk pitcher.  Some of these pieces were also found decorated with the picture of a very young Shirley; others used a picture of Shirley from her 1936 Captain January costume. These cute pieces were given away as premium promotional pieces from Wheaties cereal and Bisquick from 1934 to 1942.
    This pitcher is a genuine antique and is made of cobalt blue glass that was manufactured by the Hazel Atlas Glass Company.  The pitcher measures approximately 4.50" tall, 3.50" wide at the top and 2-3/8" wide at the bottom.  The pitcher has an approximate 2-5/8" handle.
    The pitcher features an adorable while printed image of a young Shirley Temple on one side with a facsimile of her autograph across the lower half of her image.  Please refer to the description photos for more details about what I have described.
