Each mask comes with elastic. Grosgrain ribbon is available to add to your purchase (in the Etsy site)
Masks are 2 layers of high quality quilting cotton with a pocket to insert an additional filter to help provide additional protection. You can make filter with a number of household items that are easy to acquire (blue shop towels, coffee filters, vacuum bags, etc).
These are non-medical masks, intended for use when leaving home for work or doing errands such as grocery shopping etc. Washable and reusable. You can even insert your own disposable mask.
I use elastic to fit around the ears. I have also erred on the safe side and made the elastic longer. They can be easily shortened/tightened by pinching and throwing in a couple stitches.
If you find that the elastic bothers your ears, I have sewn the mask with a channel in which you could easily add tie backs. Simply pull tie (such as a thin shoelace or a ribbon) through the channel where the elastic is and you will have a comfortable tie that will not irritate the ears.
We are all safe and well here, masks will be pulled from my shop if that changes. No matter where you purchase your masks I highly recommend washing them before use.
