Very Vintage Madame Alexander "Leslie" African American Doll w/Polly Face (1956).
She is an extremely beautiful African American doll in a yellow tulle gown with a stiff double crinoline which bouffants her skirt almost out of the room!  She has that Polly face, natural looking skin color and perfect makeup, full eyelashes on each eye, eyes open and shut correctly, golden brown eyes and long dark curly hair, with a small curl near each ear.  I gave her a bouquet (did my best with what I had).  She will have a stand.
She has no damage to her body, hands or feet.  She apparently had been on display as her clothes were very dusty.  I hand laundered the gown and crinoline, more than once, and its much better.  There were tiny white flowers on her sleeves which didnt return to normal after the wash, so new ones can be glued over those, zoom in on the sleeves and see the small white areas.  I would have done it myself but I didnt have white flowers small enough.  The sleeve elastic is aged, but that is to be expected.
Overall, she is excellent, stamped on her neck 1956, considering her age.  She is not perfect, but she is not supposed to be either, but she is perfectly vintage and perfectly beautiful.  Zoom in on all the pics I took!
