For your consideration I offer this 8" blonde Wendy-kins or Alexander-kins doll wearing the "
Basque-Style
" Outfit ready for a day at the seashore.  The doll is a
BKW
or "

" and is marked "
ALEX
" on her back.  The blue striped shirt is tagged "
Alexander-kins
"
According to page 76 in the book, "The World of Alexander-kins" by Patricia Smith the outfit is

The darling outfit  comes with a one piece white cotton sleeveless dress with rickrack at the shoulders and neckline.  Under the white dress she has an eyelet set of matching slip and undies that fit the doll well. Over the dress she wears the tagged light blue and white striped cardigan/shirt with matching socks.  One sock has a wee hole in the heel which you can see in the photos.
On her head she wears a felt French sailor hat trimmed with a navy blue rim and topped with a red pompom.  The cute hat still has its gold elastic chin strap that's a little stretched out but might be tucked into her curls to help the hat stay in place.  Two navy blue stars sit at the sides of the cap where the elastic is held in place. White felt fabric is not white any more but has discolored due to age and wear.
The outfit comes with white velvety side snap shoes.  One shoes needs repair done to the strap to reattach it properly to the shoe but both snaps are there and each shoe has its sole.  Both shoes show wear from use and play. Soles of shoes are not fuzzy bottoms but are intact.
Doll has a full head of blond curls with a few flyaways around her sweet little face with blinky sleep eyes.  She has painted lower lashes and eyebrows, and she still retains a hint of her original cheek color.  Walker mechanism doesn't work. Face needs a little cleaning.
I received the outfit in a box of Alexander-kin doll clothes from their long lifetime owner and matched the outfit up with a doll I had from the same era.  I've only had the doll for a couple of months while she waited for a great outfit.  When this Basque Style outfit was found little Wendy was excited to wear it.  Now she looks forward to coming to her new home.
I have gently cleaned her dress, undies, socks & shirt.  Her plastic has a few signs of wear from play and age. She comes to you without offensive odors and from my smoke free, pet free home.
Photographs are officially part of the dolls description.  I do not write about everything you can see in the photos.  A buyer should always study photos carefully before bidding.  Photos are high resolution so that you can zoom into the details.  Zooming in to study photos is the responsibility of the bidder/buyer.
Item is not mint.  I have photographed her from all sides and provided high resolution photos so that you can better judge her condition.  If you still need others please ask.  I will try to provide them.  I have mentioned flaws that I noticed but I'm not an expert and there might be others I didn't think of.  Only bid if you are comfortable knowing there might be other flaws.  Please ask questions if you are not confident in my description before bidding.

Doll is packaged very carefully.  She is wrapped gently in tissue paper first and then bubble wrap.  Bubble wrap will be lightly sealed with easy to remove scotch tape so that you do NOT have to use scissors to unwrap the doll. I then use packing peanuts around the doll to cushion her securely within the box.
