    Description

    Up for auction, we are offering a vintage oval shaped cast iron
    SEARS ROEBUCK AND CO – CLEAN OUT
    door only for stove.
    The door is also embossed,
    CHICAGO, ILL.
    on the front.
    On the handle/latch it is embossed with
    S600
    and
    DDR 571
    .
    On the inside portion or back of the door, it is embossed,
    22-44 ROOL – 242
    .
    In addition, there is a “plate” attached with some embossing possibly a date.
    It is hard to read but what I can make out is a
    22
    and
    73
    or
    78
    .
    I do not know if any of these numbers indicate the model, but I was unable to locate a
    SEARS
    ROEBUCK
    stove with this style door using a google search.
    The door is flat and measures about 8&5/16 inches wide (at widest point not including latch (about 8&5/8 inches with latch)) and about 7&1/8 inches tall including hinges and small “handle” bottom center.
    The door weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces.
    A nice decorative advertising piece.
    The cast iron door is in very good solid condition with surface rust and some pitting mostly on the “back.”
